Matan, a nurse in the ER at Carmel Medical Center, and husband of Ilana, a registered nurse at Clalit Health Services.
Sergeant Major (Res.) Matan Lazar (32), soldier with the 6261 battalion in the 261 Brigade, fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip on 22 January 2024.
Matan, a nurse in the ER at Carmel Medical Center, is a graduate of Shamir Nursing School’s integrated track for a BA and a paramedic. He was extremely active everywhere he studied or worked, and involved in social as well as professional initiatives.
Matan is survived by his parents, Silvio and Yosefa, his wife Ilana, a registered nurse, and their young son.
"His legacy will serve as an inspiration and a way of life for us, according to which we will continue to educate and be educated", said Lieutenant Colonel Lior Dadon, one of his commanders who eulogized him.
