This department sets the required core training for nurses, updates the study programs and sets the policy for the accreditation of nursing schools
The department keeps and manages the records of the persons who are licensed to practice nursing, all the while maintaining high quality standards and collaboration with various agencies.
About the Resgistration and Licensure Department
The Resgistration and Licensure Department in the Nursing Division is responsible for setting the required core training necessary for ensuring the quality of treatment provided by nurses, as well as for keeping and managing records of the persons who are licensed to practice nursing. Additionally, the Department is responsible for updating the study programs, accrediting nursing schools and nurse training institutions, setting control procedures and determining the professional status of internationally-educated nurses.
The Department takes prompt action in order to bring the nursing array to the training scope that will meet the Ministry of Health's policies and the standards for OECD countries, all the while ensuring the high quality of the students and the training programs and maintaining ongoing collaboration with government ministries and other public agencies.

Roles of the Registration and Licensure Department
- Accreditation of nurse-training institutions, setting the curriculum for advanced nursing courses and structuring unique programs.
- Setting the required core training for nurses for ensuring the quality of the treatment provided by registered nurses on both basic and advanced levels, including keeping and managing the professional record, as well as updating the core program to meet changing needs.
- Setting professional standards related to the operation of study programs in nursing schools, accreditation of and control over nurse-training institutions, keeping the core nurse-training program up to date, as well as supervising and controlling nurse-training institutions and ensuring that the standards are met.
- Recognizing the professional status of internationally-educated nurses, and adapting individual programs for internationally-educated nurses.
- Issuing certificates of eligibility to test in the licensure examination.
- Registration in the Nursing Licensure Registry, including registration in the midwives' section and the advanced nursing courses sections, and issuing professional certificates.
- Processing manpower data from the record.
Services and schedule
Issuing a registration certificate
Following the licensure examination, and up to 30 business days from the score publishing date.
Issuing individual certificates and copies of certificates
Performed subject to the submission of documents in full and the completion of requirements, up to 14 business days from the arrival of the request in our offices.
Reviewing documents for the recognition of the professional status of internationally-educated nurses
Initial response within up to 14 business days from the submission of the request. Once the documents file has been completed as required, up to 45 business days.
Filling in forms for international work
Performed up to 14 business days from the arrival of the request in our offices.
