After receiving approval from the Nursing Division recognizing your professional status as a registered nurse trained abroad, you will receive notification of your eligibility to take the government licensing examination.
Important information
- Registration is completed through the Healthcare Professions Portal during the published registration periods.
- The exam is available in one of six languages: Hebrew, Arabic, English, Russian, French, or Spanish.
- Each year, you may register for one of two adaptive exam sessions: April and September.
- To secure your place in a specific exam session, you must register on time, meet all requirements, and complete all registration steps by the deadlines. If all registration steps are not completed on time, you will not be able to take the exam in your selected session.
- Applicants without an Israeli ID number (for example, passport holders) cannot receive services through the personal portal. In this case, contact the Licensing Examinations Department by email at siud.test@moh.gov.il or the Ministry of Health hotline (*5400) for registration instructions.
Spring 2027 exam registration process
If you completed your nursing studies outside Israel and wish to take the government licensing examination for registered nurses during the Spring session on April 5–7, 2027, you must complete two steps before the exam date. Each step depends on completing the previous step.
The steps are:
- Submit your application: The deadline for submitting all required documents to the Nursing Division for eligibility review and recognition of professional status in nursing (graduates of foreign nursing programs) is January 5, 2027. Any requests or documents received after this date will be processed in accordance with the service charter.
- Register for the exam: Complete registration by March 5, 2027.
Appeals
The appeal date following the licensing examination is June 2027.
Candidates who receive a score of 58 or 59 only may submit an appeal. Appeals must be submitted within two weeks of the publication of exam results. The appeal process is conducted according to the government licensing examination appeal procedure.
Fall 2026 exam registration process
If you completed your nursing studies outside Israel and wish to take the government licensing examination for registered nurses during the Fall session on September 6–10, 2026, you must complete two steps before the exam date. Each step depends on completing the previous step.
The steps are:
- Submit your application: The deadline for submitting all required documents to the Nursing Division for eligibility review and recognition of professional status in nursing (graduates of foreign nursing programs) is June 6, 2026. Any requests or documents received after this date will be processed in accordance with the service charter.
- Register for the exam: Complete registration by August 6, 2026.
Appeals
The appeal date following the licensing examination is November 19, 2026.
Candidates who receive a score of 58 or 59 only may submit an appeal. Appeals must be submitted within two weeks of the publication of exam results. The appeal process is conducted according to the government licensing examination appeal procedure.
Registering for a repeat exam
No additional declarations are required when registering for a repeat exam. You are responsible for notifying the Nursing Division of any changes to your health status or criminal record. Learn more about registering for a repeat exam.
Registering for the exam through the Healthcare Professions Portal
If this is your first exam, follow these instructions:
- Sign in to the portal: The first time you sign in, you must replace your temporary password with a permanent personal password. Your username and password will be used for all future portal access.
- You are responsible for updating the Nursing Division if your contact details change by contacting the Ministry of Health hotline at *5400.
- If your mobile phone cannot receive SMS messages, you may provide the mobile number of a family member or another trusted person who can receive SMS messages on your behalf throughout the registration process, exam invitation process, and receipt of exam results.
- For technical issues, contact the Ministry of Health hotline (*5400).
- Health declaration and declaration of no criminal record: You must complete and digitally sign an online declaration. Completing the declaration is required for exam registration.
Good to know: The Nursing Division requests information from the Israel Police regarding the absence of a criminal record.
- Payment: Before registering for the exam, you must pay the exam processing fee.
- Payment must be made through the Postal Bank or by bank transfer to the Ministry of Health account: Postal Bank, Branch 001 Jerusalem, Account No. 0-025961.
- After payment, scan or photograph the payment confirmation and save it for use during portal registration.
Please note: Payment should only be made after you receive confirmation of eligibility to take the exam. Without eligibility approval, you cannot take the exam, even if payment has been made.
- Register for the exam: Complete registration through the portal no later than one month before the exam date. After this date, registration will close.
- During registration, select the exam date and exam language (Hebrew, Arabic, English, Russian, French, or Spanish).
- Make sure you select the correct language, as it cannot be changed after registration.
- Upload your payment confirmation file as proof of payment.
- If you are eligible for extra time, upload the required supporting documents during registration.
- After completing registration, you will receive an SMS confirmation from the Nursing Division.
- Exam invitation letter: You must bring your exam invitation letter on the exam day.
- The invitation letter will be available through the portal two weeks before the exam date.
- The letter includes exam details, including the location, date and time, candidate number, exam hall, and approval for extra time (if applicable). Print the invitation letter and bring it with you to the exam.
