The advanced course in Gastroenterology is a part of a cooperative acute chronic module, together with the advanced courses in geriatrics, oncology, and nephrology.

The advanced course in Gastroenterology is focused on chronic and acute diseases of the digestive system in adults and children, as well as diagnosis methods, and treatment. The course offers the opportunity to manage the treatment, accompany, guide, and monitor patients in the different stages of disease, as well as allow you to make clinical decisions.
The curriculum includes theoretical study hours and clinical practice hours.
The clinical practice is conducted in 2 tracks, according to prior clinical experience of the students.
Track A is designed for students have been employed for at least a year in a row on a full-time basis, or equivalent, in the Gastroenterology Department, and it includes 434 hours of study, of which:
Track Bis designed for students with no clinical experience in the Gastroenterology Department, and it includes 498 hours, of which:
In order to be accepted to track A studies, you must bring a declaration form, signed by the Nursing Administration in the institution you work, attesting that you have been employed a year in a row, at least, in the Gastroenterology Department, on a full-time basis, or equivalent. You must submit the form when starting your studies.
