Ricky, an ICU nurse, completed her military service as commander of the regional military medical headquarters in southern Israel. On October 7, 2023, she was called to return to head the Ram-2 unit at Soroka University Medical Center.

She shared how she thought that she had already seen the worst before this war but the injuries and deaths in this war were a completely different level.

"The injuries were very serious. The sight of young victims, children, the sight of corpses piled up all greatly affected me, especially knowing that our best commanders lay among the dead. We got a hold of ourselves and projected that the nation of Israel is alive and medical teams were active on the ground. We proudly represented the Medical Corps and gave our best and more during these difficult times".
