Lieutenant Nitzan Tarshis saved the lives of soldiers and citizens under fire, who were then evacuated by helicopter and ambulances to hospitals in the south.
Nitzan and her friends recall those moments:
“We aimed to provide treatment in the battlefield while still under fire and evacuate the wounded as quickly as possible to the airborne troops who continued to treat them and evacuate them to the hospitals. I am proud of my battalion aid team and the troops that acted during this event. I know that we provided the most professional response we possibly could.”
