If any proof has been needed for the necessity of nurses in the Healthcare System, the coronavirus pandemic came and proved it; and the demand for academic nurses has only been growing.
For the first time, an opportunity has arisen to combine national-civic Service, in diverse positions, which provide professional interest and intellectual challenge; additionally, acquiring an academic education and securing your financial and professional future; all this with a sense of a mission and helping others.
As part of the program, in which the Ministry of Health, the Authority for national-civic service, Tel-Aviv University – the Nursing faculty, and the Israeli Volunteer Association take part, it would be possible to start Bachelor's degree studies in nursing and registered nurse certificate, as well as to acquire a high-demand profession during national-civic service. One and a half years out of four years of studies will be during the period of national-civic Service.
After the period of national-civic service, and after completing their studies and successfully passing the government licensure exam, the students will be able to join as registered nurses in hospitals, in the community, in Healthcare bureaus, etc.
The Israeli Volunteer Association has started recruiting the first students to study in the program.
The studies will take place at the Tel Aviv University campus, and the clinical studies at the nursing academic school at Wolfson Medical Center, Holon. The national-civic service volunteers will study jointly with the general studies students at the nursing faculty.
