Michal Alon

Nurse and National Home Care Director at Leumit Health Services

Thanks to the heroism of Michal and her family, the life of a soldier, Sean, was saved.

Michal Alon, nurse and National Home Care Director for Leumit Health Services, stayed Friday evening before the murderous attack (7.10.2023) with her family in Zikim Base, where they organized a Shabbat meal for soldiers. The base was attacked and once Michal realized that soldiers were wounded, she left the shelter to treat them.

A soldier suddenly arrived with a helmet and flak jacket. Michal was happy because she thought he came to help her but he turned out to be a terrorist in disguise who pointed a weapon at her and shot three bullets. The terrorist was sure that she was dead… in the exchange of fire, a soldier, Sean, was shot and lost a great deal of blood.

Michal dragged herself out of the shelter and explained to her children how to set a tourniquet on the leg of the wounded soldier. Michal’s family member evacuated the injured soldier as well as the injured Michal on a stretcher.
Thanks to the heroic act of Michal and her family, Sean survived and was hospitalized in the room next to Michal at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center.
