Lactation Consultancy Certificate
Promotion and encouragement of breastfeeding throughout the entire therapeutic sequence
Promotion and encouragement of breastfeeding throughout the entire therapeutic sequence
Breastfeeding over time has been proven to improve the physical and mental health of both the baby and the mother, and to strengthen the bond between them. Breastfeeding has many advantages in the nutritional, immune, developmental, psychological, social, economic and environmental fields.
Social changes, especially in the field of women's status and the development of science and medicine, have led to a decrease in breastfeeding rates in the Western world and various factors influence the decision to stop breastfeeding, among them the lack of continuous care, availability of baby food compounds and the like.
Lactation consultants have a leading and central role in promoting and encouraging breastfeeding throughout the entire care continuum. An advanced course in lactation consultancy will therefore give you tools to provide a professional response and counseling in the field, beyond basic training in breastfeeding. As licensed lactation consultants, you will play a leading and central role in promoting and encouraging breastfeeding in the hospital and in the community.
The lactation consultancy clinical practice takes place in hospitals and in the community.
The study program includes 350 study hours, of which:
See the registration fee for advanced courses and selection examinations in the relevant annual circular (Hebrew).
