I am Bushra Yunes, a diabetes clinical nurse practitioner, and a regional diabetes nurse of Kupat Holim (HMO) Meuhedet in the north. I have been a nurse for 26 years.

As part of my role, I provide a professional and personally customized response, in a general and supportive manner, to diabetic patients and their families. Providing professional, humane, innovative, and continuous treatment encourages patients to cooperate and promotes their motivation for making a change; consequently, they are able to balance their condition and achieve an optimal quality of life.

The meaning of my name, Bushra, is "good news"; I bring good news to people, with compassion, and with infinite benevolence. I am acting on a mission, that is why I have chosen to be a nurse, and I am proud to be one.

Providing professional, humane, innovative, and continuous treatment encourages patients to cooperate and promotes their motivation for making a change.

In the course of my work, I led a major change among the healthcare team, as well as among patients, in the perception and management of the disease through various therapeutic attitudes. I empower and advise the healthcare team; I founded a diabetes school, where hundreds of doctors and nurses have been trained.

Additionally, I took part in a Nursing Administration advisory committee regarding the role of the nurse in estimating the condition of the diabetic patient. I was head of a strategic committee of Kupat Holim Meuhedet for putting together a professional model for managing diabetes treatment in primary clinics, according to which teams are working in the HMO clinics.
I have represented the HMO at a number of international conferences and led numerous studies in the field.

One of the studies I published found that "out of 220 patients whose doctors I gave Individual consultation, 46% became balanced; a change was made in the drug treatment; adherence to treatment increased, and there was an evident improvement in examinations and follow-ups."

I consider myself a role model for the job and a professional source for doctors and nurses, as far as treatment and balancing diabetic patients.
My inspiring motto is "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
