The area of expertise in supportive care includes treating patients at the end of life, balancing medication for relief and control of symptoms, as well as counseling and guidance for the patient and his family in the end-of-life journey.
The main activity of Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner
- Examining patients and assessing their condition.
- References for diagnostic and follow-up tests.
- Referrals to medical and paramedical consultants.
- Determining treatment plans and providing therapeutic instructions.
- Management of medication treatment – initiation, balance, treatment discontinuation
- Balancing symptoms.
- Performing unique treatments approved by the specialist nurse as part of the prescribed treatment plan.
- Training and providing advice to the patient and his family and the medical team.
- Involving relevant treatment factors in the community.
Study Program
The study program lasts about a year and includes 750 study hours, of which:
- 350 theoretical study hours in the format of 2 study days per week.
- 400 clinical hours in the format of 3 days a week.
Prerequisites for Applying to the Program:
- You have a Master's degree recognized in the State of Israel and at least one of the degrees in nursing.
- You have been engaged and employed for at least two years in the field.
- You have successfully completed and met the requirements of advanced nursing course in one of the following areas:

Applying for the Program
Application for the program is made through the public appeal.
To Apply, You Will Need to Attach:
- CV
- Certificates of education (Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, post-basic nursing course).
- Signature of human resources at the institution that employs you, approving employment in the field, on an application form (Appendix 2).
- Reference letter by the nursing management at the employing institution.
